Does Sitta record my home?
No. The microphone listens for specific distress patterns — not conversations. The camera only activates when you manually tap Peek. Video is end-to-end encrypted and never stored.
Does Sitta work with cats?

Can I use an old phone as the companion?

Sitta listens quietly in the background. If your dog is calm, you'll see "Resting" on your dashboard — and that's the best outcome. Sounds only play when they're needed, so calm days mean Sitta is working exactly as it should.

Does Sitta work in multi-pet households?
Yes. In multi-pet homes, Sitta detects when any pet shows signs of distress and plays calming sounds for the whole room. Each pet gets their own profile and timeline.
How much battery does the companion phone use?
Sitta is designed for all-day use. The companion phone uses approximately 10–15% battery per hour with the screen dimmed and sound therapy active. We recommend plugging in for sessions longer than 4 hours.
Do both phones need Wi-Fi?
The companion phone needs a Wi-Fi or cellular connection to send updates and enable Peek. The owner phone works on any internet connection — Wi-Fi, cellular, or even on a different network. They don't need to be on the same Wi-Fi.
Is my data private?
Completely. Audio analysis runs on-device using Apple's CoreML. Your dog's audio is never recorded, uploaded, or stored. Video is end-to-end encrypted. We don't sell data. Period.
How much storage does Sitta need?
Sitta's core app is under 50 MB. Sound files add approximately 15–20 MB. The app works well on older iPhones with limited storage — it was designed for exactly that use case.
